The most signifi cant cracks can be induced by welding, which is applied for joining of structural components. Pressure equipment in service is also exposed to high pressure and high stresses. Materials for their manufacturing are designed to resist high stress at elevated temperature, and to meet requirements regarding creep resistance. The objective of this study is to investigate microstructure of diff erent regions of the heat aff ected zone in T/P91 steels by using thermal simulation instead of welding.

Evaluation of microstructural properties and investigation of corrosion behavior of P460NH welded steel using E8018-G electrode
One of the applications of P460NH micro-alloy steel is its use in pressure vessel tanks. Electrode E8018-G can be used for welding this steel. In this study, to obtain the optimal welding parameters, the arc process based on ASME IX standard was used. Then, by sampling from the weld section, Vickers hardness test was performed and hardness profiles were drawn in different areas. Then the micro...

متن کاملInvestigating the Effect of Optimum Welding Parameters on the Microstructural and Mechanical Properties of St37 Steel and 316L Stainless Steel Welded by the Friction Stir Welding Process
In this research, St37 and 316L steel sheets were welded using friction stir welding (FSW) process and effective parameters such as the rotational speed, linear speed of the tool, pin diameter, and their appropriate values were studied. The microstructure, hardness, and strength of the different welding regions were investigated. It was observed that in the stir zone (SZ), a mechanical operatio...
متن کاملEvaluation of microstructure and mechanical properties of friction stir welded copper / 316L stainless steel dissimilar metals
In the present research, friction stir welding (FSW) process was used for butt joining of pure copper plate to 316L stainless steel plate. Mechanical properties and microstructural characteristics of the joint were evaluated by microhardness and tensile tests as well as optical and scanning electron microscope (SEM). It was found that microstructure of the weld nugget (WN) has fine grains where...

Dissimilar metals friction welding of austenitic–martensitic stainless steels is commonly used in order to manufacture engine valves in the automobile industry. In this study, X53CrMnNiN219 (austenitic stainless steel) and X45CrSi93 (martensitic stainless steel) valve steel rods were welded by friction welding process. The welded joint was then heat treated at 760 0C for 60 min. Mechanical prop...
